The "Journal of Soil and Plant Science" is a specialized branch of the former "Agricultural Science" journal of the University of Tabriz. With the separation of the "Agricultural Science" Journal into several journals, since 2009, the aforementioned journal has been active in related fields as a quarterly journal under the title "Water and Soil Science". Based on the approval of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology with the separation of the "Water and Soil Science" Journal, the publication license for the "Journal of Soil and Plant Science" was finalized in October 1403 and notified to the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tabriz.
